Our Editorial Commitment
NewsFeast Newspapers is committed to providing credible, timely, responsible and meaningful journalism to readers in Nigeria and around the world. Our guiding principle is “News With Purpose. A Brighter Tomorrow.”
We believe journalism should inform the public, encourage responsible discussion and contribute positively to society. We therefore strive to report events accurately, fairly and with appropriate context while maintaining editorial independence.
Accuracy and Verification
NewsFeast Newspapers makes reasonable efforts to ensure that information published on our platform is accurate and properly verified. Our journalists and contributors are expected to check facts, confirm important claims and distinguish verified information from allegations, opinions and speculation.
Where a story involves serious allegations against an individual or organisation, we seek, where reasonably possible, to obtain a response from the affected party before publication or to give the party an opportunity to respond.
Independence and Impartiality
NewsFeast Newspapers maintains editorial independence from political parties, government agencies, businesses, advertisers, religious organisations and other interest groups.
Advertising, sponsorship or other commercial relationships must not determine our editorial decisions. Advertisers and sponsors do not have the right to dictate the editorial conclusions of our journalists.
We seek to present competing perspectives fairly, particularly on matters of significant public interest, while making clear the distinction between news reporting, analysis and opinion.
News Sources
We use a range of sources, including official statements, public records, interviews, eyewitness accounts, documents and reputable news organisations.
Anonymous sources may be used when the information is of legitimate public interest and the source has a reasonable basis for providing the information anonymously. Anonymous sourcing will not be used merely to make an otherwise weak story appear authoritative.
Information obtained from social media or other online platforms will be treated with caution and independently verified where appropriate before being presented as fact.
Corrections and Updates
NewsFeast Newspapers recognises that errors can occur in journalism. When we identify a significant factual error, we will seek to correct it promptly and transparently.
Corrections may be made to headlines, text, photographs, captions or other published material where necessary. Where an important correction materially changes the understanding of a story, we may include a clear correction or update notice.

Opinion and Commentary
News reports, analysis and opinion are different forms of editorial content.
Opinions published by NewsFeast Newspapers represent the views of the writer unless clearly stated otherwise. The publication of an opinion does not necessarily mean that NewsFeast Newspapers endorses every view expressed by the writer.
Opinion articles should nevertheless meet reasonable standards of accuracy and should not knowingly present false information as fact.
Headlines and Images
Headlines should accurately reflect the substance of the accompanying story and should not deliberately mislead readers.
Photographs, illustrations, videos and other visual materials should be used responsibly and should not be manipulated or presented in a misleading manner. Where appropriate, images may be used for illustrative purposes and will be identified accordingly.
Privacy and Human Dignity
NewsFeast Newspapers respects the privacy and dignity of individuals. Personal information will not be published unnecessarily, particularly where disclosure could expose individuals to unreasonable harm.
Extra care will be taken when reporting on children, victims of crime, vulnerable persons and individuals involved in sensitive personal circumstances.
Public interest will be considered when determining whether private information should be reported.
Crime and Allegations
A person accused of an offence should not automatically be presented as guilty. NewsFeast Newspapers will make reasonable efforts to distinguish allegations, arrests, charges, court proceedings and convictions.
We will avoid language that unnecessarily prejudges the outcome of a legal process.
Conflicts of Interest
Journalists, editors and contributors should disclose relevant conflicts of interest that could affect their reporting or editorial judgment.
NewsFeast Newspapers does not support the use of journalism for undisclosed personal, political or commercial interests.
User-Submitted Content
NewsFeast Newspapers may receive news tips, photographs, videos, articles and other materials from members of the public.
Submission of material does not guarantee publication. All submitted material may be reviewed, edited, verified or rejected according to our editorial standards.
Contributors should not knowingly submit fabricated, defamatory, plagiarised or unlawfully obtained material.
Artificial Intelligence and Digital Tools
NewsFeast Newspapers may use appropriate digital tools and artificial intelligence technologies to assist with research, editing, transcription, translation, formatting and other production processes.
Such tools do not replace editorial responsibility. Published material remains subject to human review, verification and editorial judgment.
Advertising and Sponsored Content
Advertising and sponsored material should be distinguishable from independent editorial content.
Commercial relationships must not compromise the accuracy, integrity or independence of our journalism. Sponsored or promotional content may be clearly identified where applicable.
