The National Orientation Agency, NOA, and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have commenced a 4-day sensitisation campaign against drug abuse and domestic violence in Kaduna State.

The campaign, under the 2024 North-West Constituency Project of Speaker Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, kicked off on September 9, 2026, with a road show across major parts of Kaduna metropolis.

Leading the campaign is the DG of NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, alongside the Director of Abuse, Rights and Narcotics, Mrs Acharu Opaluwa.
Personnel from NDLEA, NSCDC, FRSC, Police and NYSC also joined the road show from Leventis to Katsina and Lagos Roundabout.

Mallam Issa-Onilu said drug abuse and domestic violence are interconnected and destroy individuals, families and communities.
He urged residents to stay away from substances and to take the message to markets, motor parks, and places of worship.

He also advised families with affected members to seek help, noting that NDLEA has rehabilitation facilities while NOA can link people to support services.

Other activities include engagements with traditional rulers, religious leaders, market leaders and the Emir of Zazzau.
Officials say sustained awareness is key to preventing both social problems.

The 4-day campaign aims to strengthen community action against drug abuse and domestic violence in Kaduna.
